From 2023 he is Full Professor in Biomedical Engineering and head of LISiN laboratory.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;More&#8230;&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.5.3&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Marco Gazzoni graduated in Computer Science Engineering in 1998 at Politecnico di Torino. In 2005 he obtained the PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino. From 2015 he is head of the Laboratory of Engineering of Neuromuscular System and motor rehabilitation (LISiN). Merletti obtained his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1972. In 1970 and 1972 he obtained the Master of Science and the PhD in Electrical Engineering at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio (U.S.A.), with specialization in Biomedical Engineering. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 11px; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 7.5pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000033; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">After a period of six years (from 1973 to 1979) of research activity at Sorin Biomedica in the fields of cardiac and neuromuscular stimulation, from 1980 to 1981 he was consultant for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of Cambridge (U.S.A.) and researcher at the NeuroMuscular Research Lab. of the Children&#8217;s Hospital Medical Center, Boston (U.S.A.). <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 11px; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 7.5pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000033; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">In 1980 he started his research activity in the neuromuscular field at Politecnico di Torino, Torino (Italy) where he was Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. From 1989 to 1994 he was researcher at the NeuroMuscular Research Center of Boston University and Tenured Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the same University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 11px; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 7.5pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000033; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">In 1997 he estabilished the LISiN (Laboratory for Engineering of the Neuromuscular System and motor rehabilitation). <\/span>H<span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000033; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">e has been partner or coordinator of six european projects and two ESA projects. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 11px; text-align: justify; line-height: normal; text-indent: 7.5pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000033; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Prof. Merletti is Member of the Advisory Board of Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, of the Editorial Board of Physiological Measurement, and of the Editorial Board of Biomedical Signal Processing and Control. He has been Member of the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering and of the Editorial Board of European J. of Applied Physiology. He has been Guest Editor of a Special Issue of Medical Engineering and Physics (1999), of a Special Issue of Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology (2000), of a Special Issue of Physiological Measurement (2009), and of a Special Issue of Critical Reviews in Biomedical Engineering (2011). Since 2006, he is with the Laboratory for Engineering of the Neuromuscular System of Politecnico di Torino. Currently, he is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;More&#8230;&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.5.3&#8243; width=&#8221;95.5%&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alberto Botter was born in Biella in 1980. He obtained the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2005 and in 2011 respectively. Since 2006 he is with the Laboratory for Engineering of the Neuromuscular System. Currently, he is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Torino.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His main expertise are in the areas of signal processing applied to biomedical signals, basic and applied physiology of the neuromuscular system, surface electromyography, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. He has an extensive experience on the study of muscle response to electrically induced contractions. Recently, his activities have been focused on the integration of high density EMG and ultrasonographic techniques for non-invasive investigation of electrical and mechanical properties of the muscle.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Botter is author\/co-author of about 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals, he is part of the Editorial Board of Frontiers in Exercise Physiology, and serves as a reviewer for several international journals. He has one international patent application concerning a novel technique for simultaneous ultrasonic and electromyographic imaging of the muscle. He is Associate professor at Politecnico di Torino.\u00a0 He earned several international awards. He is member of the Editorial Board of three peer-reviewed journals and member of the Executive Council of the Italian Society of Clinical Movement Analysis.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_team_member][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;More&#8230;&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.5.3&#8243; text_orientation=&#8221;justified&#8221; width=&#8221;94%&#8221; max_width=&#8221;100%&#8221; module_alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Taian Vieira was Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1980.\u00a0 He graduated in Motor Sciences at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 2005.\u00a0 In 2007, he obtained the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the same university.\u00a0 With a doctoral scholarship provided by the Brazilian Research Council (CNPq), in 2011 he obtained the PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy).\u00a0 Since then, he has been working in the fields of muscle neurophysiology, posture control, EMG-Biofeedback and electrical stimulation applied to healthy and disabled subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his doctoral studies, Dr. Taian Vieira received two presentation awards by international, scientific societies.\u00a0 In 2011, he was the inaugural winner of the Emerging Scientist Award of the International Society of Biomechanics, sponsored by Prof. Carlo De Luca.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From September 2011 to August 2016 Dr. Vieira was Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.\u00a0 In addition to the teaching experience accumulated as Associate Professor, Dr Vieira was invited to hold lectures within international courses and conferences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Taian Vieira has established collaborations with researchers in Italy and abroad.\u00a0 These collaborations have resulted in successful, grant applications; Dr. Taian Vieira has participated as PI and Co-PI in research projects funded by international and national agencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr Vieira has been Member of the Editorial Board of three, peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology, Frontiers in Psychology and Frontiers in Physiology.\u00a0 Within Frontiers in Physiology, he and Dr. Hodson-Tole recently promoted a Special Issue on the spatio-temporal mechanisms underpinning muscle force production.\u00a0 He has authored nearly 45 manuscripts published in high-impact journals in the field of health sciences and biomedical engineering.\u00a0 Currently, Dr. Taian Vieira serves as reviewer for several, peer reviewed journals.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;
